Set in the style of an old-Florida cracker-town from the 1800′s, our dormitories and activity rooms serve as the perfect home base for the week’s activities. We have a boys dorm and a girls dorm each with 32 camper capacity. Counselor to camper ratio is 6:1 at night so counselors stay in the dorm with campers all night. With so much to do, campers can stay for multiple weeks with no additional charge for overnights between sessions and we also offer laundry service free of charge!

The Florida EcoSafaris at Forever Florida Visitor Center is home to the Cypress Restaurant, the Florida EcoSafaris at Forever Florida Marketplace and serves as the departure point for fun safaris offered through Florida EcoSafaris at Forever Florida.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Illahaw is owned and operated by the Allen Broussard Conservancy, a non-profit organization established in 1991. Since 2005, Camp Illahaw has offered campers the chance to experience all Florida has to offer with a diverse selection of fun activities from Horseback Trail Rides; Arena Activities; Florida History/Heritage; Low Ropes Challenge Course; Hiking; Kayaking; Archery; Shooting; Swimming, Paintball*; and our “unique” Outdoor Survival Activity*. We are home to Central Florida’s longest zipline and a full Eco Park Safari which includes the first roller coaster zipline in the United States!

At Camp Illahaw, not only do we concentrate on camper activities but also their social interactions under the guidance of camp directors and counselors assuring a safe and fun experience for everyone. All camp employees are certified in CPR and First Aid annually. As required by Florida State Law they are also fingerprinted and verified through the FBI and Child Protective Services.

Camp Illahaw hosts campers from all over the world from as far away as Spain, France, Germany and Russia! Many of our counselors also come from around the world England, Scotland, Germany, New Zealand, Poland, Iceland, Turkey, Australia and South Africa. They are sponsored by Camp America

Camp Illahaw offers eight (8) one week overnight sessions beginning June 8th thru August 2nd for summer 2014. Boys and Girls ages 10 to 15 are eligible to attend. The camp is owned and operated by the Allen Broussard Conservancy, a nonprofit organization.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Ages 16 to 17

The CIT Program seeks to teach young people about responsibility, authority, and hard work that will prepare them to be counselors and leaders in the future, or to prepare them for college life. Being a camp counselor is a great summer job for college students. Our CIT program is a great way for young adults to gain the necessary experience and qualities needed to secure a job. Many camps look for past camp experience or CIT program experience. We prefer our CIT’s be past Camp Illahaw campers but it isn’t required.

You will also earn 50 community hours per week!

CAMP FACILITIES: Our cabins are all climate controlled and modernized. We have a junior Olympic sized pool, three lakes, ropes course and rock wall, acres of play space, multiple archery ranges, our beautiful dining hall and pavilion, art center, and so much more.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Wewa prides itself on two things...fun and safety. We encourage all campers to leave the cell phones and the video games home, you won't be needing them here at camp. Your day will be filled from wake up to lights out with fun activities throughout the day and evening. Our staff are all mature, well trained leaders that are here because they love camp. Each staff member participates in a through background check and staff training process before campers arrive, and many of our staff are in fact returning Wewa alumni. CAMP FACILITIES: We have a huge gymnasium with lots of individual classroom space for indoor activities. We have a 10 acre campus with lots of shade and room to run and play.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Everglades Youth Conservation Camp is an American Camp Association (ACA) accredited facility, meeting all ACA health, safety, and program quality standards.

The Youth Camp was created in the 1960's by individuals who cared deeply about conservation, protecting wilderness areas, wildlife in natural habitats and preserving a way of life.

The camp facility is managed by the Florida Youth Conservation Centers Network, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Residential summer camp programs are for children completing 3rd – 8th grade.

The EYCC also offers a Leadership Camp for youth completing grades 9th – 12th grade. Summer camp activities challenge camper’s physical, mental and social growth. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: YMCA Camp Winona provides a great traditional, overnight camping experience. We try to balance tradition with the interests of today’s campers by offering fun, exciting and safe activities. Campers are grouped by age and gender and stay in small rustic cabins complete with built in bunk beds and air conditioning. There are up to 12 campers and two staff in each cabin surrounding centrally located bathhouses. Our meals are prepared by our camp chefs and served family style in our air conditioned dining hall. Our well-balanced meals include cereal, salad bar and sandwich options for those campers wishing an alternative/supplement to the meal. We are equipped to accommodate food allergies and special dietary needs.

Leader In Training- LIT
Entering 9th Grade
HADRACHA combines leadership training with a fun camp experience. LITs will work with campers and travel on field trips or participate in leadership and team building programs for 2 days. LITS will participate in mitzvah ("good deed") projects and trips. Additionally, one day will be spent at the JCC working on camp wide special events programming, and spending time with campers. An interview process and acceptance is required for admission into the LIT program. 25 Community Service hours will be awarded for each 4-week session.

MADRICH
Counselor In Training- CIT
Entering 10th Grade
Madrich CITs assist in camp groups and learn hands on skills as well as knowledge gained in leadership training sessions. A $100 stipend is given and 160 Community Service hours are awarded for each 4-week session. An interview is required for admission into the CIT program. CAMP FACILITIES: 5 acres farm, with two riding rings, and miles of trails in our neighboring park.

CAMP FACILITIES: Our top decks can currently accommodate 144 students a week in our junior officer state rooms, which house six students each. Our virtual aircraft carrier, AMBITION, also has a deck where all the learning facilities are located, and another deck where we house our flight simulators.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The National Flight Academy offers one of the most exciting and immersive learning experiences in the world- inspiring 5-12th graders to take an interest in science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), in an aviation-themed adventure aboard a massive virtual aircraft carrier, AMBITION (CVT-11). This four-story 102,000 square foot facility is designed scenically and theatrically to simulate a modern aircraft carrier.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Unfortunately, scholarship funds through the National Flight Academy are not available for our 2016 season. In the event that something does become available, updates will be posted on our website and social media platforms. As availability is not guaranteed, we strongly encourage students to reach out to local STEM education or civic leadership organizations in their community, such as American Legion posts, JROTCs, and schools, who may be interested in student sponsorship opportunities or group rates.
